Leading Forward: Working as an Executive Board
by Texas A&M RHA | Updated May 29 2025

The RHA Executive Board represents all on-campus residents at Texas A&M
The RHA Executive Board is a team of student leaders elected or appointed to guide the mission, operations, and programs of the Texas A&M Residential Housing Association. They oversee the organization’s goals, support hall councils, manage funding, and represent residents in high-level campus conversations.
Think of them as the backbone of RHA — the students working behind the scenes to make community events, leadership development, and resident advocacy happen.
What Do They Do?
- Oversee and support Community Councils across all residence halls and apartments
- Allocate funding for events, programs, and improvements
- Plan and execute campus-wide programs like AggieFest, Simpson Spring Fest, and March Into Midterms
- Represent resident voices in campus planning, housing policy, and student services
- Host General Assembly and lead RHA legislation and governance
How Are Executive Board Members Chosen?
Executive Board members are selected each spring through a combination of applications and interviews. Candidates must be current or future on-campus residents who demonstrate leadership, initiative, and a passion for building community.
The President is elected by the student body during campus-wide elections managed by the SGA Election Commission, while other positions are appointed by a selection committee.
Why It Matters
RHA is one of the largest student organizations on campus, and the Executive Board is what makes it function. These students shape the on-campus experience for thousands of Aggies — from organizing events to enacting policy change.
Serving on the Executive Board is also a major opportunity for personal growth, professional development, and meaningful service.
