General Assembly
By Texas A&M RHA | Updated May 26 2025
The RHA General Assembly (GA) is the decision-making body of the Residential Housing Association at Texas A&M. It’s where representatives from every residence hall and apartment community gather to discuss important issues, vote on legislation, and plan campus-wide events.
Whether you're a hall president, executive board member, or an interested resident, General Assembly is your chance to see student government in action and have a say in what happens where you live.

Who Attends General Assembly?
GA is made up of the President and Vice President/Treasurer from each Community Council, the RHA Executive Board, and any on-campus resident who wishes to attend. Each recognized hall delegation has one voting voice — but meetings are open to all residents.
Guests, advisors, and RHA Execs are often present to give updates, present legislation, or support discussion.
What Happens at GA?
- Updates from the Executive Board and Community Councils
- Proposals for new programs, legislation, or funding
- Voting on bills, budgets, or changes to the RHA Constitution
- Open forums to discuss campus issues affecting residents
- Planning for major and hall events
GA is structured but welcoming. Whether you’re a first-time attendee or a seasoned leader, your input is valued — and your ideas could spark the next big program on campus.
Why It Matters
RHA serves over 12,000 students — and General Assembly is where their ideas, needs, and voices come together. When your hall shows up and speaks up, you help shape real changes in residence life, event planning, and campus policy.
Past GA discussions have led to everything from hall funding increases and sustainability initiatives to event approvals and feedback on housing improvements.
How to Get Involved
Any on-campus resident can attend GA meetings. If you want to become a voting delegate for your hall, talk to your Community Council leadership.
Meeting times and locations are posted regularly. Bring your ideas, questions, and curiosity — and see how Aggies lead where they live.
