Community Council Leadership Roles

Community Councils consist of passionate residents who take on leadership roles to enhance life in the halls and apartments. Each position plays a unique role in planning events, managing resources, and ensuring your voice is heard. Here’s a look at the core positions commonly found on each council:
President
Leads the Community Council and ensures all efforts align with the mission of improving life in the hall. Chairs meetings, communicates with RHA, and serves as the hall’s key representative.
Vice President of Finance / Treasurer
Manages the council’s finances, creates budgets, maintains spending records, and ensures funds are allocated to support impactful programs and improvements.
Eco-Rep
Promotes sustainability efforts within the community, coordinates eco-friendly events, and represents the hall in partnership with the Aggie Eco-Represenatives.
Chair of Programming
Plans, coordinates, and executes events that foster community and engagement in the hall. Works closely with other members to deliver creative and community-building experiences.
Chair of Marketing
Leads promotional efforts, creates flyers and social media content, and ensures events and announcements reach all residents effectively.
Chair of Records
Takes detailed meeting minutes, organizes council documentation, and supports transparency and consistency across council operations.
Chair of Wellness
Champions physical, mental, and emotional wellness by leading events and initiatives that promote self-care, mindfulness, and healthy living.
Chair of Hall Resources
Identifies needs within the residence, such as new furniture or appliances, and collaborates with residents and RHA to propose improvements through the Hall Improvements process.
Chair of Service and Recognition
Encourages community involvement and leads volunteer efforts. Organizes recognition programs to celebrate residents and council members who make a difference.
Floor/Building Representative
Acts as the voice for a specific floor or building section. Brings feedback and ideas to council meetings and helps ensure every resident is heard and included.
