Get Involved

Founded in August 1972 through the Civilian Student Council, the Residential Housing Association (RHA)—formerly the Residence Hall Association—serves as the official governing body for more than 12,000 on-campus residents at Texas A&M University–College Station. For over fifty years, RHA has advanced student leadership, supported the development of vibrant residential communities, and upheld the enduring traditions of Aggieland.

The RHA Constitution establishes the governing framework for the Residential Housing Association. It defines the organization’s structure, authorities, and procedures to ensure transparency, accountability, and effective student-centered governance.

Contact Us By Email

One of the best first steps is simply showing up to an RHA General Assembly or campus-wide program. These gatherings are open to all on-campus residents and are a great way to see RHA in action.

  • Hear updates from Community Councils and campus partners about what’s happening in the halls.
  • Use open forum time to share ideas, concerns, or feedback about the on-campus experience.
  • Meet current leaders, advisors, and other residents who are passionate about residential life.
  • Learn about upcoming initiatives, leadership opportunities, and ways to volunteer.

Even if you’re not ready to take on a position yet, attending General Assemblies or large-scale programs helps you understand RHA’s work and connect with people who can help you find your place.

Want to talk through ideas, ask questions, or learn where you fit best? RHA Executive Board members hold regular office hours where you can meet 1-on-1 with a student leader.

  • Ask about roles on the RHA Executive Board or within your Community Council.
  • Brainstorm program ideas, advocacy initiatives, or ways to improve your hall experience.
  • Get help understanding time commitments, applications, and next steps.

You don’t need a formal agenda — just stop by, introduce yourself, and we’ll help you explore leadership opportunities that match your interests and schedule.

One of the easiest ways to get involved is right where you live — your hall or area’s Community Council. These groups plan events, share resident feedback, and build traditions within each community.

  • Attend programs and meetings hosted in your building or apartment community.
  • Introduce yourself to current officers and ask how you can help with upcoming events.
  • Learn about open roles, committee work, or ways to volunteer without a formal position.

By showing up and getting to know your council, you’ll start building connections and experience that can lead to future leadership roles in both your hall and RHA.
