Event Descriptions

The purpose of this page is to provide you with a basic overview of some, not all, the events RHA hosts, attends, or co programs over the course of the academic year. Keep in mind some events are further explained on the navigation pane to the right.
AggieFest: Residence Hall Association's official "welcome to Aggieland" event that is traditionally held during Gig'Em Week.
Care Packages: One of RHA's fundraisers where family and loved ones purchase care packages for students that reside on campus. There are a variety of options available for purchase through our supplier, On Campus Marketing. (ie. Move-In, Finals, Valentines, Finals)
Community Seminars: Engaging seminars that present students with information that pertains to their daily lives in college and the residence halls. Normally challenges students to step out of their traditional comfort "communities"
Diversi-Tee: RHA's way of showcasing the visual diversity of the campus by a unique design of a t-shirt. The shirt that is said to "break down stereotypes." Some terms listed include: Black, White, Homosexual, Heterosexual, Republican, Liberal, Intersex, Rich, Poor, etc.
Elections: We coordinate the campaigning efforts in the residence halls during Fall and Spring elections to allow residents to meet potential candidates for leadership roles on our campus. We also emphasis resident's rights during this time to make sure residents are respected throughout this process.
End-of-the-Year Banquet: a co-effort between the National Residence Hall Honory (NRHH) and RHA to recognize the accomplishments of hall councils and individuals that positively contributed to the on campus community.
Gig'Em Week Movie Night: A partnership between the Memorial Student Center (MSC) and RHA to provide students with the opportunity to socialize during Texas A&M's week of welcome and enjoy a recently released movie on a gumbo screen.
Most eXtreme Leadership Conference (MXLC): A developmental and team building conference that was started to help transition and prepare hall leadership for a year full of programming and impact on campus.
SWACURH: An acronym for the regional RHA conference that is held by a school within our region. SWACURH stands for the Southwestern Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls. It provides residence hall leaders with additional programming and event ideas to constantly improve campus living by attending program sessions. NACURH: An acronym for the National Association of College and University Residence Halls. They hold an annual national conference that A&M has a tradition of making an impact at. Imagine 3,000 student leaders passionate about making a difference. Now imagine them all dressed up in themed clothing.... that's NACURH. Click on "conferences" sub-tab above for more information.
WinterFest: A new tradition that provides our community with a welcome back carnival after the Winter holiday break. Click on the "WinterFest" sub-tab to the right for more information.
